Teshay Makeda the Empress of Roots Soul, is a divinely gifted South London based singer, songwriter and performer, with a unique musical style that is grounded in her Rastafarian roots. Makeda’s hypnotic fusion of Reggae, Soul and RnB, dubbed ’Roots Soul’, is a groundbreaking new genre that is kicking up a storm on the music scene. After the release of her first acclaimed EP ‘Teshay Makeda’ in 2017, Makeda has performed on major stages in the UK and internationally including the 2018 Rototom Sunsplash Festival in Spain, and the inaugural Cross the Tracks Festival on home turf at Brixton’s Brockwell Park in 2019 , Mekudeshet Festival Jerusalem 2019 and Villa Verde Ethiopia 2020.
